Introooooo
Hi!
I joined a couple of days ago. Sorry I've been too busy to post an intro.
Heres a quick one because I'm off to work in a minute.
In the mundane world I'm a mother of 2.5 kids (all girls) and I'll be 34 next Tuesday. My partner is a student and we live in Victoria Australia.
Magically I've been practicing for about 16 years. I follow no religion and do not work with deity. My main focus is on hedge riding / shamanism.
I'm also in love with essential oils and Crystals.
Can't wait to check out the boards properly!

Wow Maggie. What are their ages?
I ask because I'm wondering about the dynamics between them.
Mine are 6, 2 and 5 months.
The older 2 will be 7 and 3 in January. I thought the 2 little ones would stick together and the older one would drift off on her own. Time will tell I suppose. At the moment the older two play really well together and the middle one is a little bit scared of the baby! lol.
Their names are Layla, Adel and Lumen.

I really love the name Lumen!
Thanks! Rarely do people "love" it. Usually they just look at us cross eyed. lol
I love the name Lilith. It was my first choice for Layla. My partner hated it. Layla was the first name we actually agreed on. Later I went to look it up and found that Lilith is known to the Muslims as Layla. So I got the name I wanted in the end... sort of. lol
My gods you have a lot of young children! How do you cope?! lol.

Oh that definitely helps!! I started a business a week before Lumen was born and I'm so lucky to have my partner at home helping me. He looks after the kids while I work. Its great.
He has a work place injury and is in the process of re-educating himself. I'm sure things will change when he goes back to work.
I didn't have my first until I was 28! I do wonder what life would be like if I'd had them earlier.
That is funny about the names Layla and Lilith. And our first borns too! My mothers name is Lillian so thats Adels middle name.
How did you come up with your other girls names? Adel is a combination if Adam and Mel. And Lumen.... well, we heard it and couldn't get it out of our heads.

Maggie-in-the-Mead wrote:It honestly kills me about Poppy. Most people think I mean poppy as in a nickname for a grandpa and I'm just like "People! It's a flower!" the really sad thing is it's our state flower (California poppy). Ay yi yi!
That's hilarious! I'm sure people think I made up Lumen. But its a scientific term.

Maggie-in-the-Mead wrote:Sorry for the serial posting but I have to add people about die when I tell them my girls' full names. Birdie's is the only one that sounds "normal". We gave them all Tolkien related middle names so they are- Lilith Luthien, Mable Mirkwood, Olive Onodrim, Birdie Bree, and Poppy Peregrin. Tolkien fans get excited to hear them but most other people just look at me like I am the worse mother ever. LOL
LOL I love them! My girls have family names Grace, Lillian and Jesse.
